Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Wet Ingredients

  • 1½ cups mashed bananas (approx. 3 bananas)
  • ½ cup nut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Heat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy removal.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly mix the mashed bananas, nut butter, rolled oats, cinnamon, vanilla extract, maple syrup, chocolate chips, and salt until the mixture is well incorporated.
  3. Prepare for Baking: Transfer the mixture to the lined baking pan and flatten it evenly into a smooth layer. Optionally sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top for added texture and flavor.
  4. Bake the Bars: Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown and the bars appear set in the center.
  5. Cool and Serve: Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan to firm up before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

  • Use ripe bananas for a naturally sweeter and more flavorful bar.
  • You can substitute nut butter with sunflower seed butter for a nut-free version.
  • Customize by adding nuts, dried fruits, or seeds for extra texture and nutrition.
  • Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for a week.
  • These bars can also be frozen for up to 2 months; thaw before serving.
