Ingredients

Scale

Eggs

  • 68 hard-boiled eggs, peeled

Sauce

  • 1 stick unsalted butter (about 4 tablespoons)
  • 1/4 cup sliced onions
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1/4 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Boil and peel eggs: Place eggs in a pot of water and boil until hard-boiled, about 9-12 minutes. Drain, cool the eggs in cold water, peel the shells carefully, and set aside.
  2. Melt butter: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter completely, making sure it doesn’t brown.
  3. Cook onions: Add the sliced onions to the melted butter and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions become soft and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and seasonings: Stir in the minced garlic, garlic paste, Old Bay seasoning, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the spices release their aroma.
  5. Simmer with broth: Pour in the vegetable broth and reduce the heat to low. Let the sauce simmer gently for 5 minutes to blend the flavors well.
  6. Combine and serve: Place the peeled hard-boiled eggs in a serving bowl and pour the hot spicy garlic butter sauce over them. Allow the eggs to soak in the sauce for a minute before serving.
  7. Enjoy: Serve warm or chilled according to preference. This dish makes a great flavorful snack or appetizer.

Notes

  • For a milder version, reduce the amounts of cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes.
  • You can substitute vegetable broth with chicken broth for a richer taste.
  • Use fresh garlic instead of garlic paste for a stronger, fresher flavor.
  • This dish can be served warm immediately or chilled for a couple of hours for infused flavors.
  • Leftover sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; reheat gently before serving.
