Ingredients

Scale

Meat Mixture

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ cup bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Cheeses

  • 8 ounces Velveeta cheese, cubed
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

Dough and Toppings

  • 13.8 ounces pizza dough (1 can)
  • 1 Tablespoon everything bagel seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Cook Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until it is browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess grease to keep the filling from being too greasy.
  3. Add Seasonings and Bacon: To the browned beef, add the cooked chopped bacon, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well to combine all flavors evenly.
  4. Add Velveeta Cheese: Add the cubed Velveeta cheese to the skillet and stir until the cheese begins to melt slightly, creating a creamy and rich filling. Remove the skillet from heat.
  5. Prepare Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a clean surface into a 15 by 10-inch rectangle, creating an even base for the filling.
  6. Assemble Filling: Spread the beef and cheese mixture evenly over the pizza dough, leaving about an inch of space around the edges for sealing. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the beef mixture to add extra cheesiness.
  7. Roll the Dough: Starting from one of the long edges, carefully roll the dough tightly into a log shape. Pinch the edges and ends firmly to seal the seam and prevent the filling from leaking out during baking.
  8. Bake: Place the rolled dough seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle the top with everything bagel seasoning if desired for extra flavor. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool for 5-10 minutes after baking, then slice into pieces and enjoy this delicious and hearty garbage bread warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute Velveeta with any processed cheese that melts well if preferred.
  • Adding everything bagel seasoning on top is optional but adds a nice crunchy texture and flavor.
  • Make sure to seal the dough well to prevent the filling from oozing out during baking.
  • Serve garbage bread with ketchup, marinara sauce, or ranch dip for an enhanced flavor experience.
  • Leftover garbage bread can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven for best results.
